The world belongs to God, the earth and all its people.

How good and beautiful it is to live in harmony with one another!

Love and justice come together, justice and peace join hands.

We pray, sing and have faith today that our world belongs to God and God is building a global hope.

The Church continues to spread throughout the entire world.

The Church is united in heart and will, in one and the same Spirit, by the power of faith.

Let us worship God with all the Churches of the world.

Prayer OF CONFESSION

Merciful Lord, forgive us when we believe that we know the right way to do everything and to heal all the troubles of the world. But throughout history, our efforts have fallen far short of the goal of reconciliation. Forgive us our stubbornness and arrogance. Heal our wounded souls and restore hope and compassion to our relationship with you and with each other. Lift us up and move us to serve you by serving others in this world…

(continue with silent prayers of confession)

      Introduction

      Prayers OF THE PEOPLE                    …ending with “The Prayer of Peace”

      (Choir Singing)

        Lord, make me an instrument of peace

        Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

        Where there is injury, pardon;

        Where there is doubt, faith;

        Where there is despair, hope;

        Where there is darkness, light;

        Where there is sadness, joy.

        O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

        To be understood, as to understand;

        To be loved, as to love.

        For it is in giving that we receive;

        It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

        It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
