Invitation and Meaning of the Sacrament

      The Great Prayer of Thanksgiving

            The Lord is with you!

And also with you!

Lift up your voices to speak of this great love!

We lift them up in joyful praise!

It is right and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere, to give thanks to you, Living God.  Time after time, you draw us here to inspire us, feed us, and save us.  Especially when our love fails, you are here, steadfast and true.  You created this world and called it good. You created us to proclaim your good news to all.  And so we raise our voices in praise:

Blessed is the King comes in the name of the Lord!                                        Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest heaven!   (Luke 19:38)

We remember the life and ministry of Jesus: how Jesus healed the sick, fed the hungry, ate with sinners, and preached forgiveness and peace.  It was at this table that Jesus issued the invitation: to gather together, to share together, to remember together, and to go and do likewise in the world.  And so during this Easter Season, we raise our voices to proclaim this timeless truth:

Christ has died. Christ is risen!  Christ will come again!

Pour out your Holy Spirit on us, your people, and on these gifts of bread and cup.  Make us lovers and tellers of your word.  Make us healers and givers of your grace.  And make us one body in Jesus Christ. All glory and honor is yours, Almighty God, now and for all time!

      Words of Institution

All baptized Christians; children and adults, are invited to share the sacrament of communion.

Come forward by the center aisle, as guided by the ushers.  Receive the bread;
dip the bread in the cup offered by an elder.  After eating, return to your seat by the side aisle. Wheat-free wafers are available in the paper cup.

Those who wish to participate in communion, but are unable to come forward, are invited to inform an usher in order to be served in their seat.

(Come to the Table “sung during communion”)

PRAYERS AROUND THE TABLE                ……concluding with the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Living Hope

Verse 1

How great the chasm that lay between us

How high the mountain I could not climb

In desperation I turned to heaven

And spoke Your name into the night

Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness

Tore through the shadows of my soul

The work is finished the end is written

Jesus Christ my living hope

Verse 2

Who could imagine so great a mercy

What heart could fathom such boundless grace

The God of ages stepped down from glory

To wear my sin and bear my shame

The cross has spoken I am forgiven

The King of kings calls me His own

Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever

Jesus Christ my living hope

Hallelujah praise the One who set me free

Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me

You have broken every chain

There’s salvation in Your name

Jesus Christ my living hope

Verse 3

Then came the morning that sealed the promise

Your buried body began to breathe

Out of the silence the Roaring Lion

Declared the grave has no claim on me

Jesus Yours is the victory whoa

Chorus x2

Jesus Christ my living hope

Oh God You are my living hope
