CALL TO WORSHIP
Sisters and brothers, the laws of God are no longer on tablets of stone;
God, the Author of our lives, has written holy promises on our hearts.
Here in this place, Christ etches the Law of Love even more deeply within us.
Together, let us worship the God of our lives through all the circling years!
- OPENING HYMN 557 O God Beyond All Praising THAXTED
Guilt: Prayer of Confession
Most mysterious and loving God, we come before you, not as those who are perfect
practitioners of Christ’s method, but as those who have sincerely admired him,
yearned to be like him, and love him. We admit we have only applied his truth in
fragmentary ways: we grab life and hoard it for ourselves; we seek the shabby glory of praise from others and this world. Forgive us. By your Spirit unclutter our hearts and
minds this day ,and enlarge within us a larger space for Christ...
(silent prayers of confession)
GRACE: Words of Forgiveness
GRATITUDE: The Call of Discipleship

GOD’S PEOPLE RESPOND
THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
-Prayers for those diagnosed with chronic diseases or cancer, those undergoing medical tests and procedures.
-Prayers for the servants in our community, prayers for nurses, doctors, EMT’s, Firefighters...
-Conclude our prayers with A Lenten prayer from the Iona Community
Mysterious and magnificent God, you are present in the darkness before dawn;
in the waiting and uncertainty where fear and courage join hands, conflict and
caring link arms, and the sun rises over barbed wire. You are a with-us God
who sits down in our midst to share our humanity. You take us beyond the safe
place into action, into vulnerability and into the streets.
Give us courage to commit ourselves to work for change, to bear responsibility, to take risks, live powerfully and face humiliation; to stand with those on the
edge; to choose life and be used by the Spirit for God’s new community of hope. Amen.
